Why Dark Matter?

Dark Matter is an astronomical phenomenon that is undetectable by standard radiation emission, however it’s presence can be detected from gravitational effects on other visible matter.

Ever sense I first read about and discovered this phenomenon in 1990 while studying physics, I was fascinated by it.  It seemed to me to be what held the vastness of space together, an unseen force that worked across all matter.

Therefore when I entered into software engineering and started my company, I wanted to make technology transparent to people, something that was there, that was used all the time, but not in the way.  It seemed like a perfect name, so in 1992 Dark Matter Software was born, later changed to Dark Matter Systems to reflect the greater diversification of the company outside of software development and into complete systems.
